Fluffy Hair She Don't Care

A couple of months ago, Miami dancer Blac Chyna released these pics of herself via  twitter and her blog to show her fans that she is all NATURAL.  Weave is not a necessity for her but, simply for enjoyment and as a way to keep her real hair from being damaged.  I personally, know a few females that say the same exact thing. So I'm hype!!  Why?? Besides the fact that she's "Team Natural" her hair is actually healthy and bouncy.

A lot of women wear weave because they have abused their hair for so long that they feel they don't even have a choice anymore.  Do NOT become a slave to weave. Own it.  Don't let it own you.

Blac Chyna is in charge of her own look and changes her hairstyles as she please .  With the confidence to release these pictures that's what being sexy is all about.

Tips: Don't allow people to pull and tug at your hair.  Love yourself.  Hold all of your hair in one hand and comb it gently starting from the ends up to the roots. This is the safest way to remove tangles. If you did it the other way, you'd be pulling and popping a lot of hair out on-the-daily. Eek!  Hair grows, but hair breaks.  Some more than others.  Also, don't be afraid to let your hairdresser know when they're being too rough.  Everyone isn't passionate about their profession.  And everyone doesn't deserve the title of  professional.

Spend money $$$ where you feel comfortable.  I rarely go to the salon because I've yet to find one that will care for my hair the way I do.  I don't chemically straighten my hair either.  I get it blown out on occasion.  I lost my files so I'll have to upload pics later. Your hairdresser should NEVER have the "my way or the highway" attitude. 1) You're in charge. 2) You as the customer do the hiring and firing. 3) A stylist should never want to have their customer feel uncomfortable for their own sake.  That's disgustingly selfish.  So.....

What is good hair?? People often debate about what "good hair" is.

No matter what your hair type: Healthy hair is good hair.

Introducing....Blac Chyna

Blac Chyna on the cover of Dimepiece magazine

The magazine title says it all!! I first fell in love with her when I saw this cover as the background of the Dimepiece Magazine twitter account.  Her name is Blac Chyna and she is a superstar currently based out of Miami, Florida.  Not only is she a sight to see, but, her style is off-the-chain!!  She is constantly transforming herself making her one of my favorite "style chameleons."

"Amazin" Eyebrows!!!

Trina  (image from gyantunplugged.com)

Now when it comes to bangin' brows I can't NOT mention "The Diamond Princess."  Trina is so exclusive!!  Her style, her attitude, and her business savvy persona.  She's a beauty ambassador for thickness.  And I give her credit as being one of the pioneers for making being curvy socially acceptable in entertainment. She grew into her curves and into her womanhood.  I'd give her the trophy for Best Brows. She's definitely one of the more glamorous women in the entertainment industry.  This image is from her music video for her single That's My Attitude off of her album Amazin'.  Everything about her look is five star, nothing less. Come on, just look at her nails.

Lala Anthony (formerly Vasquez)
Next up is Lala Anthony!!  She's another one with bangin' brows.  She usually goes for a PERFECT, pristine arch.  Nice and neat.  With her award winning smile, Lala is such a beauty queen and a fabulous mom.

Clown Brows

Bozo-the-Clown

This is a FASHION DON'T. Don't be caught out there!! We don't have to have the same taste, but I think that we all can agree that super thin, no shape brows aren't fashion forward. I hate to see women with brows shaped like two little arcs. I call them "clown brows."  My opinion is that I do like thin eyebrows when they have a sexy arched shape to them, not that round crazy look.

I was going to put up a picture but I figured that would be rude.  I think that everyone pretty much get the point.

A Secret to Keeping Nail Polish From Spoiling

Yes, that is my refrigerator door just in case you were wondering.  It may look like a weird or unusual place to store nail polish, but here's a beauty secret:  Storing nail polish in the refrigerator keeps it from becoming lumpy.  Nail polish can become damaged when it sits in a warm environment.  But when you store it in a cool place like the fridge, polish stays smooth forever just like when you first bought it.  I have a few more bottles on the other shelf, but I wanted to snap this pic to show you where and how I store mine.  I put them on the bottom shelf  so that they sit comfortably and don't get in the way of what the fridge is traditionally used for.  I've been doing this since I was about 14 years old, so please feel comfortable taking my word on this one.  It stood the test of time.

African Flavor Hits Brooklyn Fashion Weekend!

People say that fashion is dead.  I wonder who told that lie.  Last night I was invited by Christian Ruart to a private fashion presentation.  These are my absolute favorite pieces from the one and only Lea Mono Haute Couture fashion house. Albertine Odimba Bongo is the daughter of Dabani Odimba Bongo, the first lady of Gabon.  She is specialized in fashion design internationally with a remarkable resume of gown design for Queens and Princesses in Africa and Arabic Countries such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Senegal, Ivory Coast, New York, Italy, Asia, Qatar, Jordan, Lebanon, and of course Gabon.

Cognac Handbags: Why You Should Own One

People often say that black goes with everything.  You may be surprised to find out that cognac is just as versatile as black.  Some folks (such as myself) say that it's better. Because sometimes black can be too harsh.  Especially with pastels. They say that every woman should at least own one.  I'm guilty.  I probably have more handbags than the average woman and none of them are tan.

Don't Forget Your Shades

When you have to make an early morning run throw on a fabulous pair of sunglasses. Why? In the past you've probably woken up one morning and decided to make a bowl of cereal. You might've poured all of the cereal into the biggest bowl, and grabbed a huge spoon just to tip the carton and realize that you were out of milk. So now you have to make that unexpected morning trip to the store. This happens to a lot of us.

Your Nudes Ain't Like Mine

Skin is such a wonderful thing. And the most fascinating part is that we all come in different shades of it. The term nude as an adjective is defined as naked or unclothed in most dictionaries. However, in the fashion world when we say, "nude" {sometimes} we mean it in the sense of your skin color. There is a really good chance that your nude is not my nude. Why? Because the color NUDE, unlike the guilt in most adhesive bandage colors, is not one-size-fits-all. The color nude can be any hue of human skin. This picture demonstrates that very fact. We come in all different flavors....
